WCPHP COVID-19 Vaccine Access Grant Award

The West Central Public Health Partnership (WCPHP) is a regional collaboration between six counties on the Western Slope of Colorado: Gunnison, Hinsdale, Ouray, San Miguel, Montrose, and Delta. Throughout the pandemic, WCPHP has worked collectively to respond to challenges presented to these interconnected rural communities.

WCPHP has identified the following populations as high-priority for additional outreach and strategic communications regarding COVID-19 vaccination:

·         individuals and families in low-income households,

·         non-English speakers,

·         individuals that face multiple barriers accessing healthcare,

·         migrant/seasonal workers in agriculture,

·         people experiencing homelessness,

·         and Native Americans populations.

In July of 2021 the WCPHP began a grant contract with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to provide access to vaccinations and community-centered communications to priority populations in the region.
